I actually like my subjects ...
During the holidays, my dissatisfaction came to a head and I made a choice - I am moving into a science degree. I have started my subjects (a week and a half ago) and I absolutely love all my courses. This is fabulous!
I take:
ARCH 1112 - From Origins to Civilisations BIAN 2013 - Human Evolution BIOL 1004 - Molecular Biology PHIL2057 - Philosphy of Science
I have decided on my majors - genetics and biological anthropology. I am officially changing degrees next year because it costs $125 to do it now and is free next year, and makes absolutely no difference. I love uni!

Hollywood and Rum
We had a Hollywood party last night - it was really nice food, and there was a red carpet and we all dressed up. I went as Drusilla from Buffy - wore my long black dress and borrowed a red top and a silver choker. It was heaps fun.
Then after, Phoebe, Vikram, MJ, Chinmayee and I went to Manuka to see Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest. Damn it was a fantastic movie! So much fun! I loved it. It was truly hilarious and a very exciting movie. Fabulous music too. I absolutely loved it. Can't wait for the third to come out!

It's a Scary World
Vikram came back from India today, late, which is most unlike our resident child genius. It turns out the story as to why he was late is dramatic, and terrifying.
He was waiting to board the aeroplane, in a room with 600 people. By pure chance a drug dog was wandering around, and started barking loudly at a small parcel. The police then evacuated the building and called in the bomb squad.
It actually was a bomb, and when they were dismantling it they discoverd it was set to go off that night. Vikram and those other 600 people would have been killed or injured. I just can't understand why anyone could deliberately kill civilians, knowing it is only civilians who will be killed, knowing they will kill innocent parties, women and children. I just can't understand.
So the plane was delayed 4 days, and no-one was hurt. All I can say is thank God for that drug dog.

Only in college ...
Last night was "Gender Bender" moonlight bus. Basically, the guys dress up as girls, and the girls dress up as guys, they. all hop on a bus and proceed to get drunk. Typically college activity. It was a highly disturbing sight, let me tell you, to see all the boys dressed in miniskirts and makeup. Disturbing, but very hilarious. I have s many lovely blackmail shots :D I may post them at some point.

Threes
They say good things come in threes. Apparently so do shocks.
Yesterday I got another 2 rather nasty shocks.
1. Driving back from Curves with my grandma, I was goiong rather slowly coz roadworks were happening, when two roadworkers got into a fight. The big one pushed the little one right into the path of my car!! Bloody moron!! I was going slow enough to be able to avoid him by swerving a bit to the right, but any faster or a car on the right and I would have hit him. God what an idiot!!
2. Driving to Wilson's, a dog darted out in front of the car. Thank God nothing was behind me, so I slammed the brakes (damn that makes a loud screeching noise) and stopped less than a foot from the dog, which promptly gave me a dirty look and ran off.'
Fun few days ...

First on the scene
A rather scary thing happened last night. I was up late, on my computer, and I heard someone coming down the road at high speed, then a massive skid, then a louder screech like someone ramming the wheel to the side, and stepping on the brakes hard. Then two loud bangs. Nana heard a bit of it, and mum was asleep. None of the neighbours noticed at all.
I went outside with mum, we had a quick look, couldn't see anything. We were going inside when I saw a glinting. I checked, and it was the smashed windscreen. The car was lying on its side, with the underside facing the road. Good God, no-one else saw it - it was too far off the side of the road for cars to see it...
We called 000 and they asked us to check if anyone was in it. It looked like no-one could have survived it - the car was squished awfully, and both doors were crushed (one under the vehicle, the other just on top). I shone my torch inside the windscreen, and honestly I excpected to see blood and a corpse. It was the most terrific mess. I could not see any body, and no possible way of exiting the vehicle. When the police came, they looked but couldn't find the driver and no means of ejection. They were going to call the dog squad.
A little while later, when the tow truck was there, they found the driver. I think she was unconcious crumpled up on the floor. The police guy said she was 'alright' - inside the ambulance being taken to hospital. She is bloody lucky to be alive. I looked at the skid marks and the debris this morning, and she must have been going at over 100 to hit the wall with enough force to spin the car 270 degrees and flip it onto its side.
The neighbour's rock wall and postbox are completely destroyed. God no-one else noticed the car, if I hadn't seen the moonlight glinting she would have been trapped in there until the morning. God it was terrifying being first on the scene and having to look for a body. Thank god the poor kid is alive.
Only I can't feel too sorry for her because the police opinion is that she was drunk coming back from a party and going at enourmous speed. There is so much damage, it was a god-awful accident. I feel sorry for her parents. Especially as the neighbours will have to mount a civil law suit to claim damages, and I might be called as a witness. Fun.
Good to know I don't freak in a crisis though. I was oddly calm, and business-like. It was so confusing we and then the police couldn't find the driver at first. I guess she woke up and groaned when they started moving the car. Anyway rather scary. She was a green P plater.

What's Been Happening
Hi guys!
I know I haven’t posted in absolute ages, I’ve been really very busy. Now I am going to go through my diary, from the last time I posted, and write down in chronological order everything interesting that has happened since then. This therefore will be an abnormally long post.
30th May
Went to see X-Men 3! It was an absolutely awesome movie. I loved it, thought it was the best one so far. The cinema in Canberra is tiny! I went with Alex, Hugh, Chinmayee, Allision, and Bart. LMAO Bart rode in the boot. The bit after the credits was nice, and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine was drop dead gorgeous as always.
2nd June
Terry and Jasha came!!! Yay!! It was so awesome to see them, I’d been looking forward to it for absolute ages! They came over and met me at ANU, after the silly boys got lost. We had hot chocolate, and they met some of my uni friends. It was heaps fun. I missed them when they left.
3rd June
Terry, Jasha and I went off to Questacon! It was heaps of fun, of course, but cute Questacon boy wasn’t there L. Terry paid for my ticket the sweetheart, and wouldn’t let me pay him back. Met Diwa there too – she works there. Then I went over to the YHA, and then the boys walked me back to ANU, where we all hung out, and I got ready to go out.
Siobhan came took, and we went out to Mooseheads, and met Daniel and his friends, then off to Shooters and met Wilson, Caitlin and Adam. It was certainly an experience. It was great to see my friends again, but I couldn’t dance, I don’t know why, but I don’t feel comfortable dancing in front of my school friends … I was so tired, and Terry paid for a taxi home and came with me. He really is a fantastic friend.
8th June
My POLS 1002 Exam. Damn I am so glad that little experience is over. At least it wasn’t too bad.
9th June
Had fun today – we put my TV out in convo, and a whole group of us watched Bend it Like Beckham. Was a lot of fun.
11th June
A whole lot of us went down to the lake and sent off some gorgeous fireworks. It was awesome, they were so beautiful. Chowy wanted to set one off on the highway, but we talked him out of it for fairly obvious reasons.
13th June
OMG the FUNNIEST thing ever happened in convo on the 13th. MJ, Maguire, Mickey G, Shannon and I were sitting in convo talking, as usual, about sex. Eventually it turned to whether it was better to be a girl or a guy. I was laughing my head off. MJ decided I was an honoury guy. Still not sure why, since I had just said "I’m so glad I’m a girl right now."
Anyway then Maguire piped up: "Naw, pair like those you'e DEFINITELY female." Followed a few seconds later by: "I'm talking about ur tits u know!" God, what do you say to that? We all just laughed and laughed and I said I’ll take that as a compliment. Lol it was so very funny.
16th June
BIOL 1003 exam is over!! Dam that is an awesome feeling. Oddly the exam was sort of enjoyable, in a weird kind of way.
18th June
10 of us went over to Doctor Phil’s (at 1:30am, I guess that counts as the 19th) and we all watched the Brazil v Australia match. It was heaps fun.
23rd June
PHIL 1004 exam. Exams over!!! Oh god that always feels so good. I went out with Phoebe, Kristen, Chinmayee, Jenny and Zoe. We went to Shooters, Moose Upstairs, and Nitro. It was SO much fun!! Second most fun I have ever had, the most being my 18th. It was so awesome, and I danced and danced. So much damn fun. I really don’t know why I can’t dance in front of my school friends, coz I was up on the podiums with uni people. Odd.
24th June
Came back to Sydney. It’s good to be home, but I also miss aspects of living away from home. God I hope lots of things get organized for this holidays. I want to see everyone from school some time.
